The Company
The London Flamenco Company was founded by La Kati in 2003.
Based in London, Kati collaborates with her brother Oliver, El Marco and other artists from Spain and the UK, performing shows as a duo or as a group of up to ten performers.
La Kati
Director and choreographer of The London Flamenco company, La kati has been immersed in dance all her life.
At the age of 10 she auditioned and won a place at the prestigious Italia Conti Academy in London learning all aspects of the performing arts. After the Academy, Kati discovered her passion for Flamenco and studied at La Escuela de Baile in London before moving to Spain. She spent five years in Barcelona and Madrid working professionally and studying with some of the masters of this complex and beautiful art form. Since then she has performed for audiences all over the world and is a respected teacher of regular classes and workshops.
Oliver Giffin
Renowned for his innovative choreography and powerful zapateado (footwork) Oliver has been dancing Flamenco from a young age.
Beginning his studies at La Escuela de Baile in London he then traveled to Seville developing his style with some of the best artists in Spain. Since then he has performed throughout the UK and abroad working with top companies whilst also teaching regular classes and workshops.
El Marco
A talented and accomplished flamenco guitarist with nearly 20 years experience of performing in Europe, Japan, North America and Asia.
His quest to follow his passion for flamenco brought him to Spain in 1991 where he immersed himself among the flamencos. He was fortunate to have been accepted into the gypsy culture where he developed a deep understanding of the spirit of flamenco. He quickly progressed to perform in the famous tablaos of Barcelona; Tablao Carmen and Los Tarantos, and has accompanied renowned artists such as Remedios Amaya, El Yunque and Juaneke.
His passion for the flamenco guitar over the years developed into a desire to understand all aspects of the art form, and he is now known for his singing, percussion and dancing, to which makes him a unique and sought-after performer.
An inspiring entertainer, He has mastered the art of flamenco guitar and rumba. His love of flamenco is demonstrated through his deep understanding of the spirit and rhythms of the art form, which translates directly in his shows.
