Summer Inspiration at Intensive Courses and Workshops

Thanks to our very special guest tutors Victor Ramos El Chuli, Aurora Caraballo and Cristina Ortega who led our intensive workshops and courses this August. Students had the amazing opportunity to learn from three truly inspiring dance teachers!

Victor Ramos 'El Chuli' focused on raising our Bulerías game and overall technique level and really absorb the essence of Spain. Víctor, known as El Chuli, was born in Antequera, Andalusia. He has danced in renowned companies such as the Compañía de Danza de Viviana Sanchez and the Barcelona y Flamenco production at the Teatro Poliorama in Barcelona, and performed at numerous Flamenco tablao venues, including Palacio del Flamenco and Tarantos.

Aurora Caraballo from Chipiona, Cadiz, led a 5-day intensive course for intermediate and advanced level dancers. Aurora is widely recognised as a great dancer and teacher. Her academic training has been with dance professionals such as Mercedes Ruiz, Belen Maya, Eva la Yerbabuena, Marco Flores and Farruco. At only 14 years old she was chosen to represent Spain in the flamenco dance modality in Holland by UNESCO. In 2019 she won third prize in the tablao competition at the Jerez Festival. She is currently part of the Mercedes Ruiz company in the show Tauromagia.

Cristina Otero, a teacher, choreographer and dancer from Jerez de la Frontera, led a 5-day intensive course for improvers and elementary level dancers. She is a qualified teacher in both Spanish dance and classical ballet, and obtained her professional degree from the Conservatorio Profesional de Danza de Sevilla. Cristina completed her training at Centro de Baile Jerez, with intensive courses taught by visiting artists such as Manuel Liñan, Marco Flores, Rocío Molina and many more. She is also the face of the Spanish Dance Society, demonstrating all of the dances from the syllabus in their official videos. With her base in Jerez, she is currently teaching and dancing all over the world.
