This gorgeous group of students who have been attending our Summer Performance Classes every Saturday in August put on their first two shows on Sunday 25 August and Saturday 31 August to raise awareness and funds for charity Rhythmic Health.
Rhythmic Health was set up by dance and healthcare professionals with the ambition of using the power of flamenco dance as an early intervention for those with mental health difficulties.
The first event was brilliantly organised by one of our students, Maria, for her local community in North London, and she joined us for all the dancing too!
For the second show, the group danced for residents and staff at a lovely care home in Swiss Cottage. They even arrived in flamenco gypsy style!
Huge thanks to Maria and all our dancers for putting in many, many hours of practice, and especially to our wonderful dance instructor Mel for leading the Performance classes and choreographing the show. A special shout-out to our 'fairy godfather' Mark for conjuring up the gypsy wagon!
Thanks also to the lovely audiences for their support, donations and for joining us with great enthusiasm for our Rumba workshop after the performance!
